Completed 2024

Project Overview

This project involved the design, supply, and installation of a temporary roof structure and full-perimeter access scaffold for a residential refurbishment project. The scaffold was commissioned to facilitate major roofing works and general external renovations on the property. Given the scale and complexity of the site, ensuring full accessibility and safety for multiple trades was paramount.

Project Scope & Objectives

The core objective was to provide a safe, stable, and weatherproof environment for contractors undertaking roofing and external refurbishment works. Specific goals included:

  • Erecting a robust temporary roof to protect the building during roof replacement.
  • Installing full-perimeter access scaffolding with working lifts to allow safe and efficient access to all external elevations.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, including regular scaffold inspections.
  • Supporting multiple trades, including roofing contractors and external renovators, throughout the 12-week project duration.

Execution & Delivery

The scaffold was erected to fully enclose the building with working lifts at each elevation, offering complete accessibility for operatives. The temporary roof was constructed using a durable, weatherproof covering system to shield ongoing roof works from the elements and maintain dry working conditions.

Key features of the scaffold design and execution included:

  • Full-height access scaffold with integrated ladder access and guardrails.
  • Temporary roof constructed with aluminium beams and shrink wrap sheeting to withstand varying weather conditions.
  • Compliance inspections carried out every 7 days, in line with statutory regulations.
  • Coordination with site management to ensure the scaffold layout accommodated both roofing and other external trades.

The scaffold was completed on schedule, enabling roofing works to commence without delay and maintaining accessibility for the entire 12-week program.

Outcome

The project was delivered safely, on time, and to the satisfaction of the client and all involved trades. The scaffold provided uninterrupted access throughout the duration of the works, ensuring that both roofing and external renovation tasks could progress efficiently and securely. Regular inspections ensured safety and compliance, with no reported incidents during the scaffold’s lifespan.

The success of this project demonstrated our ability to provide complex temporary roof systems and multi-trade access solutions, reinforcing our reputation as a reliable and safety-conscious.
