Project Overview

The project involved the traditional construction of new build plots for our client, SDP. Our scope of works primarily focused on providing a comprehensive scaffolding package over a 16-week hire period, supporting all major stages of the build. The project was delivered in full compliance with TG20:21 guidelines, ensuring safety, quality, and operational efficiency on site.

Project Scope & Objectives

Our scaffold package included:

Installation of a perimeter scaffold to facilitate safe access for rising brickwork, built to accommodate standard 4+2 board layouts (four boards for working and two for materials) to ensure bricklayers had ample space and stability.
Supply and erection of internal birdcage scaffolding, allowing access for ceiling installations and internal fit-outs.
Provision of a loading bay to support efficient vertical transportation of materials.

The main objective was to deliver a fully compliant, functional scaffold solution that supported all external and internal construction activities while maintaining a safe and organized worksite.

Execution & Delivery

This was a straightforward, well-coordinated project with seamless integration into SDP’s build schedule. Our team installed the perimeter scaffold in phases to match the bricklayers’ progress, ensuring continuous access for rising brickwork. The 4+2 board configuration offered optimal space for both personnel and material handling, improving productivity and safety for the brickwork teams.
Internally, the tube and fitting birdcage scaffold offered full platform coverage at ceiling level, allowing floor installation. Its flexibility meant it could be tailored to suit various room dimensions and ceiling heights across the plots.

The loading bay played a crucial role in material logistics, helping to reduce manual handling risks and streamline workflow by providing a dedicated area for hoisting and storing materials at height.

Outcome

The project was completed successfully, on time, and with no safety incidents. All scaffolding was installed to TG20 standards and met the operational needs of the construction site. The perimeter scaffold with 4+2 boarding ensured efficient brickwork progress, while the internal birdcaging and loading bay contributed to a smooth and safe internal build-out. The client, SDP, expressed satisfaction with the quality, reliability, and professionalism of our service.
